Profile:

Because I like to party.

tuesday, october 21. 8:18 pm pdt

I am so easily bored with everything I start.

I forgot how awesome night rides are.

EDIT: I want to carve pumpkins this weekend. Also thanks to my new sound set up (big ups to 2 COUNT THEM Tweeters and a Woofer hiding in the corner) I am fully enjoying It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia on Hulu.

Also I have the new Castlevania game and it is pretty good so far. I have killed a giant roach lobster monster.

Notes from the toilet 5:

I think mostly in pictures, sometimes in colors with sound. Something like a constant movie reel. I only think in words, in actual sentences, when I am trying to collect my thoughts for display purposes. When I was about 13 I realized I didn't have to think in whole sentences or even partial phrases. I could speed up my thought process and save time. It was overwhelming at first so I didn't do it much. But like everything, it got easier with practice.

Notes from the toilet 4:

There was a time I wondered how long I'd be playing video games. I used to think it was something I'd eventually out grow, but here I am at 27, antsy to leave work so I can get home and dust off my PS2 and Katamari Damacy, excited beyond words for the release of Fallout 3. I used to wonder but I don't any more. I might as well wonder how long I'll enjoy watching movies or riding a bike.

Notes from the toilet 3:

I have trouble with managing my motivation and amount of free time. On my days off, I never feel like working on any of my projects until about two hours before I have to go to bed. Then again, most of the work I've done that I've been proudest of has been done late at night. So maybe it's not really a motivation problem. So maybe I shouldn't feel guilty for reading comic books and playing video games during the day.

Notes from the toilet 2:

I don't believe in much. Not in God nor the goodness of man. I don't believe I have a special destiny or purpose on Earth. Just the fastest of countless sperm. Alive purely by accident. I believe in individuals, in ideas, in keeping secrets, in being fair and getting even. I believe in learning, in never making promises, in being as honest as the situation allows me to be. I don't believe in hope or wishful thinking, because I believe in myself and I know what I am capable of.

Probably to a shark, about the funniest thing there is is a wounded seal, trying to swim to shore, because WHERE DOES HE THINK HE'S GOING?

That's Truth!
Truth as is in my word.
Word as is in my bond.
Bond as is in my truth.
Truth written in fluffy clouds,
flying in a 747 high above the ground!

Notes from the toilet 1:

A little background: every day at work after lunch I take a crap in a restroom one floor up. Semi-private, one toilet, one urinal, tan walls and a brown stall door. This restroom smells like the restroom in the Madison library, which is also comforting. I get a little time to think during these paid bathroom breaks, so here's the first (perhaps of many) note from the toilet.

So at work today I started a "Boner Jams 2008" playlist in iTunes. The idea is to make a record of the songs I'm into in a given year, whether they came out that year, I find out about them or just get really into them for whatever reason.

Is there an easy way to display playlists? Do you guys like this idea? I don't know if there is a site that makes this easy or what. There should be!

I've been emailing and contacting old friends lately. I would like to be better about keeping in touch. And I like the idea of email pen pals. If anyone wants to be my pen pal, sign up below. You can just post a comment. I think that's how this works.

What I'm into lately is Harvest Moon, podcasts at work, black coffee (always and forever) not sleeping much, fall television (Dexter, Heroes, the Office) CSS and staying busy.

I am so much less irritated with my job now that I'm keeping myself so occupied. I should keep that in mind in the future.

Though to be fair, I probably shouldn't spend so much time reloading my save in Harvest Moon just to get a GD Orange Wonderful stone.

Oh and I'm also playing this game. If you're interested in some casual gaming where you build a beautiful kingdom, I am on world Lambda and we can be friends.

Weird to be embedding style crap when I post a photo. That is a NO NO.

Still working on web design stuff, but I feel like I'm losing steam. I need more projects.

quarantine's answers

what are your 2008 resolutions?

Buy and learn to shoot a crossbow
Learn to use illustrator and flash as well as I know photoshop
Learn to drive stick shift
Learn to play the drums
Abandon digital photography altogether
(maybe)Get a tattoo

over the years, who has been your favorite/most influential teacher?

Kevin Mooney. The last photo instructor I had, incredibly knowledgeable and willing to let me experiment and do whatever I wanted because he knew how excited I was about it. Good at arguing without getting belligerent, which is a must-have quality for any teacher of worth. Also I would like to get drunk with him.

what will your tombstone say?

Fuck a tombstone. Who wants to lie moldering in the ground? I plan to have my corpse shot into space like a meat rocket.
